On August 28, a plane crash occurred in the Polish city of Radom - an F-16 fighter jet crashed while preparing for the international Radom Air Show. Preliminary causes of the tragedy have been reported, according to RMF24.

Official investigation conclusions have not yet been announced, but preliminary versions have already emerged.

Former commander of the 32nd Tactical Air Base and Alioth Foundation expert, Colonel Krystian Zięć, stated that, judging by video footage, the most likely cause of the crash may be human error. According to him, even experienced pilots, like Krakowiak, are not immune to mistakes.

At the same time, a special commission is set to check the F-16’s airworthiness. Technical malfunction is being considered as a possibility, although there is currently no confirmation supporting this version.

Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed that the military gendarmerie, the prosecutor’s office, and the Aviation Accident Investigation Commission are working at the crash site and have already launched an official investigation.

Air Force Inspector Major General Ireneusz Nowak noted that human error cannot be ruled out: "We are only human, and we make mistakes. Sometimes we have to pay the highest price for our passion."

The F-16 is one of the main combat aircraft of the Polish Air Force, used in military training and NATO international missions.
