Poland and Lithuania are ready to train Ukrainian military personnel on joint platform - Nausėda
Vilnius and Warsaw are ready to train Ukrainian military personnel. The training could take place on a joint platform, according to the press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.
During a joint press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced that they are prepared to use the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade (LitPolUkrbrig) base in Poland for training Ukrainian military personnel.
"We are ready to use our joint platforms. We have the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade base in Poland. We are prepared to train Ukrainian military personnel at this brigade's base," he said.
Furthermore, the Lithuanian President added that he and his Polish counterpart will visit the brigade on September 5.
The LitPolUkrbrig, headquartered in Lublin, was established in 2014 from military units of Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania. In 2016, it underwent certification and achieved full operational capability. The following year, it completed training to NATO standards.
Additionally, on July 8, Ukraine and Poland signed a bilateral security agreement. According to this agreement, Poland pledged to expand its support to Ukraine by utilizing the POLLOGHUB logistics center and collaborating with the LitPolUkrbrig to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
