As a result of a Russian missile strike on Mykolaiv, several residential buildings were damaged or destroyed, and seven people were injured, according to the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim.

According to him, on August 2 at 10:01 p.m., Russian forces launched missile strikes on Mykolaiv.

As a result of the shelling, three private houses in the city were destroyed and fires broke out.

"Another 23 private houses, 12 apartment buildings, six cars, a post office branch, and a hardware store were damaged," Kim reported.

He also added that seven people were injured in the strike, four of whom received medical assistance at the scene.

As of this morning, a 57-year-old man and a 74-year-old man remain hospitalized in moderate condition. A 32-year-old man received outpatient treatment.

In the Mykolaiv district, according to Kim, on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3, the enemy attacked the Kutsurub community three times using FPV drones. No casualties were reported.

Fire containment

Emergency crews from the State Emergency Service (SES) extinguished a large fire caused by the missile strike on Mykolaiv.

"The fire covered an area of 1,500 square meters. Debris removal is currently underway," the main office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region reported.

Rescuers also released footage of the fire response.

Missile strike on Mykolaiv

On the evening of August 2, a Tu-22M3 bomber was spotted over the Black Sea. This aircraft is capable of carrying Kh-22 supersonic cruise missiles.

At around 10:00 p.m., Ukraine’s Air Force reported a missile moving in the direction of Mykolaiv.

Shortly after, a powerful explosion rocked the city, followed by a large fire.

The strike caused power outages in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

Later, the State Emergency Service reported that the missile attack damaged and destroyed buildings in Mykolaiv, and several local residents were injured.
