Fires, destroyed buildings, and casualties – Photos from strike site in Mykolaiv

Russian forces launched a missile strike on Mykolaiv on the evening of August 2. The attack caused fires, destroyed buildings, and left several people injured, according to the Mykolaiv State Emergency Service.
"The Russian army continues to wage war against civilians. As a result of the missile strike on a residential neighborhood in Mykolaiv, private houses were destroyed and homes of civilians were damaged," the statement reads.
Currently, State Emergency Service units are conducting emergency rescue operations and extinguishing the fire at the incident site.
Emergency services also clarified that the strike left people injured. Later, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, reported that three people had been hospitalized.
"As of now, three people have been hospitalized. Several others received medical assistance on-site," he wrote.
Background
Late in the evening of August 2, Ukraine’s Air Force detected a Tu-22M3 aircraft over the Black Sea, known to be a carrier of Kh-22 missiles.
Shortly after, the military tracked a missile heading toward Mykolaiv. Initially, there was no information about the consequences, but later Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych confirmed a missile strike. Kim also reported a fire in the city.
Later, Sienkevych stated that the strike destroyed private houses and damaged a number of others, including multi-story buildings.
Immediately following the attack and reports of explosions in the Mykolaiv region, both Mykolaiv and Kherson experienced power outages.
As of 10:51 PM Kyiv time, power began to return in Kherson. However, the head of the Regional Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, urged residents to use electricity sparingly until the situation stabilizes.
