Following a nighttime Russian drone strike on a nuclear infrastructure facility near Chornobyl, the first photos of the damaged spent nuclear fuel storage building have emerged, according to Ukraine's state nuclear energy company Energoatom.
Energoatom published photos showing damage to the container reception building at the Centralized Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility.
The company reminded that on the night of June 7, a Russian drone attacked the site, causing damage to the structure.
At the same time, no spent nuclear fuel was stored in the affected building.
"Russia continues to engage in nuclear terrorism, threatening the safety not only of Ukraine but of all Europe," Energoatom stressed.

What preceded the attack
As a reminder, at around 02:10 on June 7, a Russian strike drone attacked the site of the Centralized Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility in the Chornobyl exclusion zone.
As a result of the impact, the container reception building was partially destroyed and a fire broke out, covering an area of about 40 square meters. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Later, Ukraine's General Staff clarified that the strike hit a site near the village of Buriakivka in Kyiv region, approximately 15 kilometers from the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Remnants of a Shahed-type drone were found at the scene.
