Pentagon reports signs of North Korean soldier casualties in Kursk region
North Korean soldiers took part in the fighting in the Kursk region of Russia. The United States believes that there are all signs of death of North Koreans, stated the US Department of Defense Press Secretary, General Patrick Ryder, according to Sky News.
"We do assess that North Korean soldiers have engaged in combat in Kursk... we do have indications that they have suffered casualties, both killed and wounded," Ryder said.
According to him, the United States does not currently have detailed information on the number of North Korean losses.
Background
This morning, Ukrainian intelligence reported that units of the North Korean army launched an assault on Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region. The North Koreans suffered losses and are being replenished with fresh personnel.
Earlier, Ukrainian forces published videos of what are likely to be the first North Korean soldiers killed in the war against Ukraine. However, overall losses may be higher.
