North Korean army stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. Due to the losses, they are being replenished with fresh personnel, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

On December 14 and 15, 2024, in the areas of the villages of Plekhovo, Vorozhba, and Martynovka in the Kursk region of Russia, North Korean army units suffered significant losses: at least 30 soldiers were killed and wounded.

Also, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, at least 3 North Korean soldiers went missing near the village of Kurilovka.

“In connection with the losses, the assault groups are being replenished with fresh personnel, in particular from the 94th separate brigade of the DPRK army, to continue active hostilities in the Kursk region,” the statement said.

On December 14, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Russia was planning to engage DPRK soldiers in assaults in the Kursk region soon.

On the same day, in the evening, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the North Korean military was already participating in the battles in the Kursk region. According to him, Ukraine has information about the possible use of DPRK soldiers in other parts of the front.

The Ukrainian military has published a video of what is likely to be the first North Korean soldiers killed in the war against Ukraine.
