Patriot battery, HIMARS ammo and NASAMS: What's included in new US aid package
The United States of America announced a new package of military aid for Ukraine, which includes the Patriot air defense system and ammunition, according to the White House press release.
It is said that the estimated cost of the aid package is $225 million. This package will provide Ukraine with additional capabilities to meet its needs, including air defense systems and interceptors, ammunition for missile systems and artillery, as well as anti-tank weapons.
What is included:
- One Patriot battery;
- Munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS);
- Stinger anti-aircraft missiles;
- Ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS);
- 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds;
- Tube-launched, optically-tracked, wire-guided (TOW) equipment and missiles;
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems;
- Small arms ammunition;
- Demolition munitions; and
- Spare parts, maintenance, and other ancillary equipment.
US aid to Ukraine
Yesterday, July 10, at the opening of the NATO summit in Washington, Biden announced the transfer of an additional Patriot system to Ukraine and other weapons.
In particular, it later became known that in addition to the Patriot and SAMP-T, partners intend to provide Ukraine with dozens of tactical air defense systems.
