Parade is 'more important': Moscow residents cut off from bank transfers

Residents of Moscow and the Moscow region may face issues with bank transfers. This is happening amid preparations for the Victory Day parade, this was reported by the operator of the National Payment Card System Russian service, according to The Moscow Times.
"Due to possible internet access restrictions in Moscow from May 7 to 9, there may be difficulties with transfers between accounts and payments via the Faster Payments System, as well as temporary issues with card payments at in-store and online terminals," wrote the operator of the National Payment Card System.
At the same time, major banks have also stated that their apps may experience disruptions. They advise customers to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi or try the operation again later.
Moscow residents are also being warned that in the coming days, "there may be issues with the operation of some ATMs and POS terminals that use wireless communication channels."
Mobile internet shutdown in Moscow
Notably, mobile internet has already been shut down in Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed that Russia was forced to take this step during preparations for the Victory Day parade.
According to him, Russia fears a "dangerous neighbor." However, he did not specify when the restrictions would be lifted.
