Russia launched ballistic missiles at Kyiv overnight on August 22, with the first consequences of the attack already reported. A fire broke out at a warehouse in the Darnytskyi district, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Authorities have confirmed that one person was killed in the Russian strike, while several others were injured.

"A warehouse caught fire in the Darnytskyi district. According to preliminary information, sadly, one person was killed, and several others were injured," local authorities said.

Emergency services are working at the scene, and information about the victims is being clarified.

Attacks on Kyiv and the region

Russia has recently intensified its missile and drone attacks on Kyiv and Ukraine. The enemy has slightly changed its tactics, focusing primarily on jet-powered drones and hypersonic missiles.

For example, the day before, Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region, damaging residential buildings and a children’s hospital.

At least 14 people were killed, and another 40 were injured.

As a result, August 21 was declared a day of mourning in Kyiv. All entertainment events were canceled.
