Over 7M tons of cargo handled: Ukraine's minister reveals details of Black Sea temporary corridor
A temporary corridor in the Black Sea has already seen 200 vessels pass through, exporting over 7 million tons of cargo from the ports of Odesa, according to the Deputy Prime Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov.
"Over 7 million tons of cargo were exported from the ports of Pivdennyi, Odesa, and Chornomorsk, with almost 5 million tons being the produce of Ukrainian farmers," he has reported.
According to Kubrakov, since August 8, 200 vessels have utilized the Ukrainian corridor established by the Armed Forces for exiting ports, and 226 vessels have entered.
Furthermore, he has added that today, 31 ships are being loaded in the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi, and an additional 30 ships are using the corridor in both directions.
"Grain deal"
In July of this year, the Kremlin announced its withdrawal from the "grain deal," after which Russian occupiers began targeting Ukrainian ports and infrastructure.
In early August, Ukraine opened temporary corridors for civilian trade vessels. The routes were primarily intended for the departure of civilian vessels that had been in Ukrainian ports since the beginning of the conflict.
