Orbán preparing 'effective appearance' for his 'peace mission' regarding Ukraine in September
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán claims that his so-called "peace mission" regarding the full-scale war in Ukraine is ongoing, with a possible "spectacular" appearance in September, according to the Hungarian outlet ATV.
Orbán discussed his "peace mission" during a picnic in Kötcse. In a conversation with journalists, he emphasized that his mission is "ongoing."
"He worked on it over the summer and hinted at a 'spectacular' appearance (of the mission-ed.) in September, but provided no specific details," the outlet reports.
Orbán's 'peace mission'
In early July, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán visited Kyiv, where he held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was the first meeting between the two in 12 years. On July 5, Orbán traveled to Moscow to discuss matters with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On July 8, the Hungarian prime minister also met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Later, he wrote a letter to European Council President Charles Michel and EU leaders, claiming that, according to Moscow and Beijing, new peace talks between Russia and Ukraine are expected to take place by the end of the year.
