One injured, smoke seen after Russian drones hit Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia

Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with drones on the evening of June 8. Smoke was visible in the city. At least one person was injured, reports Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
"The smoke visible in some parts of the city is the result of a hostile Russian attack. Emergency services are heading to the site to inspect the area. Preliminary reports indicate that one person was injured," the message said at 8:21 PM Kyiv time.
Fedorov added that the alarm in the region remains active. People were urged to stay safe until the all-clear was given.
The day before the attack, Fedorov warned of a drone threat to the Zaporizhzhia region. At 8:00 PM on June 8, an alarm was announced in Zaporizhzhia. After that, explosions were heard, and air defense systems were reportedly active.
At 9:05 PM Kyiv time, Fedorov clarified that the injured person was a 23-year-old man.
"He sustained moderate injuries. He is currently in the hospital receiving the necessary medical care," the head of the Regional Military Administration wrote.
Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the regions
Russian forces regularly attack Zaporizhzhia and its region using drones, rockets, and aerial bombs.
On Friday, May 30, a drone attack caused a fire at an infrastructure facility in Zaporizhzhia. More than 13,000 customers lost power as a result.
Additionally, on the same night, Russian forces attacked a private house with an FPV drone in Prymorsk village, Stepnohirsk community. Fedorov reported that the building was completely destroyed. A 63-year-old man was injured.
