Officials report one killed, several wounded in Russian shelling of Kherson region
Russian occupiers shelled nearly fifty settlements in the Kherson region over the past 24 hours, including the regional center, the city of Kherson. As a result of the enemy attacks, there is one fatality and several injuries, according to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
The official provided operational data on the enemy shelling and its consequences from 06:00 on January 11 to 06:00 on January 12.
It is noted that, in addition to Kherson, Russian forces also targeted the settlements of Beryslav, Tomyna Balka, Oleksandrivka, Stanislav, Osokorivka, Tomaryne, Antonivka, Havrylivka, Zmiivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Inzhenerne, Burgunka, Novoraysk, Blahovishchenske, Virivka, Vesele, Veletenske, Dniprovsk, Dudchany, Novotiahynka, Novooleksandrivka, Poniativka, Molodizhne, Monastyrske, Mykhailivka, Mykolaivka, Mykilske, Olhivka, Odradokamianka, Tiahynka, Tokarivka, Rozlyv, Kozatske, Kostyrka, Kachkarivka, Ivanivka, Lviv, Yantarne, Shliakhove, Shyroka Balka, Zelenivka, Zolota Balka, Chervonyi Mayak, Ukrainka, and Bilozirka.
For strikes on these cities and villages, Russian occupiers used both artillery systems and aviation.
Consequences of the shelling
According to the head of the Military Administration, one person was killed and two civilians were injured as a result of Russian strikes in the region.
The official explained that the Russian army targeted the social infrastructure and residential areas of the settlements.
In particular, as a result of enemy strikes, two high-rise buildings and eight private houses were damaged.
"The occupiers also destroyed a warehouse facility and private vehicles," the head of the Military Administration added.
Shelling of Kherson and the region
As local officials noted, enemy shelling from Russian occupiers has significantly intensified in recent weeks. It is also mentioned that attacks using FPV drones, which the enemy specifically uses for strikes on cars with people inside, have become more frequent.
According to the head of the Military Administration, Russian forces are training their drone operators through attacks on civilians in Kherson.
As a reminder, on January 8, due to the intensified shelling by Russian forces in the villages near Kherson, bus services were temporarily suspended.
It was also reported that on April 9, Russian terrorists dropped three guided bombs on Kherson. As a result of the KAB hits, there were casualties.
