Odesa attacked by Russian strike drones

Russian forces launched around thirty drones at Odesa overnight on June 17, according to Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.
On the night of Tuesday, June 17, air raid alerts were announced twice in the Odesa region:
- the first began on June 16 at 22:43 and lasted until 00:36 AM Kyiv time on June 17;
- The second alert started at 01:28 AM Kyiv time.
At 04:34 AM Kyiv time, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of a major drone threat: "Odesa, take cover! Drones heading toward the city."
Shortly after, at 04:39 AM Kyiv time, Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov urged residents to immediately seek shelter, as Odesa was under attack by kamikaze drones: "Odesa, please stay in safe places!"
Later, at 04:46 AM Kyiv time, Trukhanov specified that there was particular danger for the city center, Arcadia, and the Malii Fontan area.
Eyewitnesses and local channels report active air defense operations.
At least nine Shahed drones have been spotted over Odesa, some of which are still circling in the sky.
Preliminary reports indicate that around thirty drones were launched toward the city from the Black Sea.
Information on possible damage or casualties is still being clarified.
Nighttime attack on Ukraine, June 17
A large-scale air raid alert was declared across Ukraine overnight due to a wave of kamikaze drones launched by Russian forces. In Kyiv, residential buildings, non-residential facilities, and vehicles were damaged.
Emergency crews and rescue services responded to incidents at 12 locations across the Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Podilskyi, and Obolonskyi districts. At least 16 people were injured.
