Explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital during the night of June 17. In one of Kyiv’s districts, a Russian Shahed drone was confirmed to have crashed, according to a statement from the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, a Russian Shahed drone crashed in the Solomianskyi district of the capital.

"There was no subsequent fire," Tkachenko added.

Meanwhile, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that air defense systems were also operating in the Obolon district. He urged residents to remain in shelters.

At 00:35 AM Kyiv time, the mayor stated that an ambulance crew was dispatched to the Solomianskyi district following the explosions.

"The crew is on site. Rescue teams are also en route. Russian drones are still approaching the city from the north. Stay in shelters!" Klitschko added.

Kyiv City Military Administration Head, Tymur Tkachenko, reported that five people were injured in the Solomianskyi district as a result of the Russian strike.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that, according to preliminary information, the top floor of a residential building in the Solomianskyi district was damaged.

Klitschko noted that four of the injured in the Solomianskyi district were hospitalized, while one person received medical assistance on site. Meanwhile, an ambulance was dispatched to a call in the Obolonskyi district.

Tkachenko reported debris from drones fell at two locations in the Darnytskyi district, one of which resulted in a fire.

According to Klitschko, nine people were injured in the Sviatoshynskyi district - four hospitalized, five treated at the scene.

In the Dniprovskyi district, a Shahed drone fragment lodged in a residential building wall, but no fire occurred. In the Podilskyi district, debris landed in an open area, and in Obolonskyi, a car was damaged.

In total, the consequences of the attack were recorded in 12 locations: Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Podilskyi, and Obolonskyi districts.

Attack on Ukraine

The air raid alert in Kyiv was declared earlier in the evening on June 16. Alerts were also issued in several other regions of Ukraine.

Russian forces had launched strike drones across the country.

During the night of June 16, Russian forces launched 138 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and decoy drones against Ukraine. Air defense units shot down 125 drones.

Hits were confirmed in 10 locations, and debris from downed drones fell in 8 locations.

In Kyiv, the attack resulted in injuries, and private houses and commercial pavilions were damaged. Debris from downed drones landed in several districts of the city.

In Zaporizhzhia, a fire broke out at a local industrial facility following drone strikes.
