In its ceasefire document, Ukraine proposes a comprehensive ceasefire. It includes a ceasefire on land, sea, and air, according to The New York Times.

A senior Ukrainian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Ukraine's memorandum contains provisions for a ceasefire on land, sea, and air. Ukraine also proposes monitoring the ceasefire by international partners.

Ukraine has previously declared its readiness for a comprehensive ceasefire with Russia, as proposed by the United States at the first talks in Saudi Arabia. However, Russia did not agree to a ceasefire.

Russia is preparing so-called memorandum on truce

After talks in Istanbul on May 16, during which Ukraine insisted on an immediate ceasefire, the Russian side refused to support the ceasefire. Instead, Moscow proposed that both sides set out in writing their views on a possible truce.

Subsequently, the Kremlin announced the preparation of a so-called memorandum, and then Russia proposed to hold a second round of talks on June 2, again in Istanbul.

At the same time, Russia says that it will present its own memorandum at the next talks. Ukraine demands that the document with Russia's proposals be submitted by June 2.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha noted that this would help make the next meeting more substantive, and the delegation would have the authority to discuss the relevant positions.

The head of the Presidential Administration, Andrii Yermak, also commented to the media that Ukraine was ready for the next round of talks with Russia, but only if Moscow provided the memorandum in advance.
