On February 17, Ukraine’s Defense Forces successfully struck strategic military and fuel-energy infrastructure targets in Russia, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

The following enemy objects were targeted during the operation:

  • Ilsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Krai, Russia – a large-scale fire was reported at the facility;
  • Kropotkinskaya Oil Pumping Station;
  • Andreapol Oil Pumping Station.

Both oil pumping stations played a crucial role in fuel transportation for Russian military operations. Their destruction will significantly complicate fuel logistics for Russian forces.

"The Defense Forces of Ukraine reserve the right to strike strategic facilities that support Russia’s armed aggression. Operations aimed at dismantling the energy infrastructure fueling Russia’s illegal war will continue," the statement says

Attacks on Russian territory

Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine’s Defense Forces, Security Service of Ukraine, and Defense Intelligence of Ukraine have regularly carried out strikes on Russian fuel and energy facilities.

Yesterday’s operation, as reported by RBC-Ukraine sources, involved the Defense Forces and Security Service of Ukraine targeting the Kropotkinskaya Oil Pumping Station and Ilsky Oil Refinery (NPP).

Meanwhile, Transneft (Russia’s state oil pipeline company -ed.) has already acknowledged significant damage due to the strike on Kropotkinskaya station.
