Noticed even near Moscow: Ukrainian intelligence attacks Russian regions with new drones
Several regions of Russia, including the outskirts of Moscow, were attacked by unknown drones overnight, according to RBC-Ukraine's sources in the security services. It is said to be a testing of new means by the Ukrainian intelligence.
Drones attacked targets in the Bryansk and Kaluga regions and were particularly noted near Moscow. According to the news agency's sources, this operation was carried out by the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"It was a test of new means," a source from RBC-Ukraine said.
Drone attack on the Russian Federation
Today, Russian media and officials reported drone attacks. In particular, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the downing of one airplane-type drone on approach to the Russian capital. According to him, the drone was shot down around 12:45 local time in the Odintsovo city district.
Three more drones, as claimed by the Russians, were shot down in the Bryansk region, and one fell in the territory of Kaluga. In all cases, Russians assured that there were no destructions or casualties.
It's worth noting that this morning, Russian airports Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky announced the Carpet plan and reported the functioning of air defense systems.
Moreover, on the night of December 17, drones attacked the Russian military airfield in Morozivsk, the Rostov region. Up to 20 Su-34 aircraft were at the airfield during the strike, and some of them were damaged.
Yurii Ihnat, a spokesperson for the Air Force, commented on the drone attacks on Russian territory. According to him, "a wedge is being driven out by a wedge."
