North Korea threatens South Korea with war, claiming to find its drone
The DPRK said it had allegedly found a South Korean drone with a box of leaflets in the Pyongyang area. It has threatened South Korea with war, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
A spokesman for the DPRK Defense Ministry said that on October 13, the wreckage of a drone similar to the aircraft that South Korea demonstrated at a parade in honor of the ROK Army Day was allegedly found near Pyongyang.
It claims that this is allegedly “decisive material evidence” that South Korea committed a provocation. The DPRK has conducted a technical examination of the detected drone and concluded that it is a small-sized remote reconnaissance drone belonging to the South Korean military.
The DPRK decided to maintain full combat readiness of artillery formations and units near the border.
North Korea warned that repeated violation of its territorial land, air, and water borders would be considered a “serious provocation of violating the DPRK's sovereignty” and threatened to declare war.
Conflict between North and South Korea
The conflict between North and South Korea has escalated in recent weeks. Pyongyang accused Seoul of launching drones with propaganda leaflets and threatened to respond with force.
South Korea denied the accusations and also said it would respond harshly to provocations.
The DPRK put artillery on alert near the border and blew up roads leading to South Korea.
