North Korea could deploy up to 100,000 troops to help Russia in its war against Ukraine. This is possible if the alliance between Pyongyang and Moscow continues to deepen, reports Bloomberg.

According to the article, such a move is not inevitable, and military support on this scale, if it occurs, is likely to be in batches with troop rotation over time, rather than a one-time deployment.

Earlier this month, Ukraine's Ambassador to South Korea, Dmytro Ponomarenko, made a similar assessment.

In an interview with Voice of America, Ponomarenko said that Kyiv expected up to 15,000 North Korean troops deployed to fight in Russia's Kursk region and possibly in the occupied areas of eastern Ukraine to rotate every few months.

Cooperation between the DPRK and Russia

In addition to soldiers, North Korea has supplied Russia with long-range missile and artillery systems. Some of them have already been deployed to the Kursk region.

The media noticed the movement of the DPRK's Koksan artillery systems to Russia.

South Korean intelligence reported that DPRK soldiers are likely to receive $2,000 per month. Meanwhile, the Russian military is complaining about Putin because of low pay in the war.
