'No victory for Putin': Zelenskyy vows Ukraine won't leave Donbas

Ukrainian President said Vladimir Putin will not win the war against Ukraine. He stressed that Kyiv will not withdraw from the Donbas.
According to Zelenskyy, Putin needs to sell a victory to his people, which is why he needs to seize the Donbas. However, Ukraine will not simply withdraw because there are no guarantees that he will not go further.
"He needs to sell a victory. No victory for Putin in Ukraine. He needs to seize the Donbas. We are not going to withdraw on our own. What can he sell as a victory? He will twist those Anchorage terms they discussed with the US side, with the US president. No one is going to abandon their country, their people, and just leave. Because no one can guarantee that this person will not go further," the Ukrainian president said.
In the same interview, he also noted that after the war, Ukraine would have strong security guarantees from the United States in the event of another Russian attack.
Commenting on the end of the war, Zelenskyy said that both sides need a ceasefire because no one knows exactly how it will end.
Resumption of peace talks
In February this year, trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States and Russia failed, in particular because of a lack of agreement on the issue of the Donbas and America's shift in focus toward the war with Iran.
However, there are factors suggesting that the peace process could resume in the near future. According to Ukraine's acting Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Trump's envoys do indeed plan to travel to Kyiv to restart peace talks.
Also, media outlets reported a secret meeting in Vienna on ending the war. Former officials from the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Russia were reportedly involved.
