No Sharia law planned: Starmer politely mocks Trump’s statement about London

London Mayor Sadiq Khan does not plan to introduce Sharia law in the British capital, as US President Donald Trump claimed during his speech at the UN General Assembly, states UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to Politico.
During a press briefing, the British Prime Minister assured that he disagrees with the US President’s claim that Sadiq Khan wants to impose Sharia law there.
"As you saw from the state visit last week, there’s lots that the president and I agree on. And we work together on. There’s a few things we disagree about. This is one of them," Starmer said.
Starmer also politely mocked Trump’s statement, noting that the idea of introducing Sharia law in London is certainly "nonsense." In his view, Sadiq Khan is a "very good man" who actively fights "serious crime."
Trump accuses London of Islamization
US President Donald Trump criticized London and its mayor, Sadiq Khan, during his speech at the UN General Assembly on September 23.
"Now they want to go to sharia law, but you’re in a different country," the US President said.
Trump made his second state visit to the UK on September 17. British authorities stated that it was the largest ceremonial reception for a state visit in modern history.
