No one will impose peace deal on Ukraine - Kellogg

US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, stated that no one will impose a peace agreement on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Sky News reports.
Speaking to reporters at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Kellogg emphasized that no one would impose a peace deal on Zelenskyy and that this matter will be decided in cooperation with Ukraine.
"He and the people of Ukraine will make that call," Kellogg said.
He further explained that the US will listen to "discussion points" from everyone involved. However, he stressed that his role is to ensure security guarantees for Ukraine.
US peace plan
After winning the presidential election, Donald Trump’s administration began actively working on a so-called peace plan to resolve the war. Earlier, Trump claimed he could stop the fighting in a day, but later changed his rhetoric.
As Kellogg mentioned, Trump will present this plan, though, according to the media reports, the US temporarily paused its development to consider the positions of European countries. Recently, Trump assured that Kyiv would participate in the negotiations to end the war.
Kellogg also stated that he does not see Europe physically at the negotiation table regarding Ukraine. However, Europe’s interests will supposedly be considered in future talks. According to him, the US will act as a mediator.
In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine should decide who will be at the negotiating table.
