Ukraine's proposal to extend the Easter ceasefire is still valid. Russia's serious willingness to talk about it is what needed, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on X.

Zelenskyy noted that rescue operations are currently underway in Kharkiv after a massive Russian drone strike. There was also an air strike in Zaporizhzhia, where residential buildings were damaged.

“Tragically, a civilian woman was killed. My condolences go to the family and loved ones. More than twenty people were wounded in this attack alone, including four children,” the President said.

Also that night, Russian drones struck Odesa. Russia has not stopped attacking Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk and southern regions.

“All of this is deliberate Russian terror that can be stopped with a single order, an order in Russia and for the Russian army. Easter proved that when there were no air raid alerts in Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.

He reminded that Ukraine had proposed to extend the silence after Easter and make it comprehensive.

“ur proposal to halt strikes on civilian infrastructure remains on the table as well. What’s needed is genuine readiness from Russia to engage in this conversation. There are and will be no impasses on the Ukrainian side,” he emphasized.

Easter ceasefire

On the eve of Easter, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced the Easter truce that was supposed to last just over a day. However, the fighting did not stop completely.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia has violated the ceasefire 2,935 times.

Zelenskyy proposed that Russia begin a 30-day truce, which would prohibit attacks on civilian objects. Putin responded that he needed to study the proposal.

Immediately after the end of the Easter ceasefire, the Russians attacked Ukraine with three missiles, including Oniks, and almost 100 drones.
