Nine killed, 33 injured in Russian strikes on Kyiv as emergency response ends

"Operations to eliminate the aftermath of the Russian attack have been completed. Unfortunately, 9 people were killed. Another 33 people were injured, including 4 children. A total of 105 people were rescued," the statement said.
The agency added that emergency crews worked continuously in several districts of the capital. They extinguished fires, cleared rubble, and assisted victims.
A total of 206 rescuers and 42 pieces of equipment were involved in recovery efforts.

As previously reported, Kyiv came under a ballistic missile attack on the night of August 1, with Russian forces striking the capital twice.
As a result of the attack, damage and destruction were reported in five districts of Kyiv: Solomianskyi, Darnytskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Pecherskyi. In some buildings, people were trapped following the strikes.
Police body cameras captured footage of ballistic missiles hitting near residential buildings.
Among those killed was 22-year-old patrol officer Yehor Terekhin. He died after a second Russian strike that night.
