Russian forces launched a night-time attack on Ukrainian territory on January 23-24, deploying Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Ukrainian air defense successfully neutralized one enemy kamikaze drone, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

"In the past 24 hours, Russian occupiers carried out another aerial strike, employing six Shahed-136/131 unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs)," stated the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The announcement highlights that the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces successfully eliminated one hostile kamikaze drone, utilizing its capabilities and resources.

Missile strike on January 23

On the night and morning of January 23, the Russian army executed a combined missile strike on Ukraine, utilizing cruise, ballistic, aviation, and anti-aircraft-guided missiles. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, air defence successfully intercepted and destroyed 21 out of the 41 missiles.

Reports indicated that the Russian attack targeted cities such as Kyiv, Kharkiv, Pavlograd, and others. Casualties and fatalities have been reported, with cities experiencing fires and damage to infrastructure and residential buildings.
