Russian terrorists conducted a combined strike on Ukraine during the night and morning of January 23, using cruise, ballistic, aviation, and anti-aircraft-guided missiles. The air defense forces managed to destroy 21 out of 41 enemy targets, according to Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As reported, 41 means of enemy air attack were recorded. Most of the missiles followed ballistic trajectories:

  • 4 anti-aircraft guided missiles S-300/S-400 from the Belgorod region - towards the Kharkiv region;
  • 15 cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 from six Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch area - Engels, Russia);
  • 8 Kh-22 missiles from Tu-22M3 bombers from the Bryansk and Oryol regions - towards the Kharkiv and Sumy regions;
  • 12 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (launch area - Belgorod and Voronezh regions);
  • 2 guided aviation missiles Kh-59 from two Su-34 aircraft (launch area - Belgorod region, Russia).

As a result of the combat actions by the Air Force, the following were destroyed:

  • 15 cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55;
  • 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
  • 1 guided aviation missile Kh-59.

All enemy missiles attacking on a ballistic trajectory reached their targets.

Missile attack on Ukraine on January 23

This morning, on January 23, Russia massively attacked Ukraine with missiles from strategic aviation. Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Pavlohrad were under attack, and casualties and fatalities were reported, with fires and destruction in the cities.

The Kyiv City Military Administration spokesperson, Mykhailo Shmanov, reported that the strike in Kyiv was combined. Cruise missiles were launched first, followed by ballistic missiles.
