Night attack: All Russian drones shot down on approach to Kyiv
All Shahed kamikaze drones launched by Russian invaders for strikes on Kyiv were destroyed by the air defense forces, reports the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko.
According to the official, enemy drones approached the Ukrainian capital from the western direction. The air alarm in Kyiv and the surrounding region lasted for almost 2 hours.
"Using the air defense forces, all enemy UAVs Shahed heading towards Kyiv were eliminated on the outskirts of the city! (The exact number of enemy drones will be disclosed by the Air Force)," the statement said.
The head of the Military Administration noted that according to preliminary operational data, there were "no casualties or damage" in the capital.
The administration added that the attack drones were launched by the enemy from the Chauda training ground in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Night attack by Shahed drones
Russian invaders once again struck Ukraine using kamikaze drones. Due to the Shahed drones, air alarms were declared in various regions from Saturday evening and throughout the night of Sunday, February 11.
The Air Force stated that the enemy launched attack drones in multiple groups from the south within a few minutes. The Shahed drones changed course and remained in the airspace.
Under the concentrated attack, Mykolaiv was heavily affected, with explosions heard several times during the night. The Ukrainian Armed Forces' air defense systems were engaged in combating the Russian Shahed drones. The city administration reported grass fires, but there was no information on casualties. There were also reports of explosions in the suburbs of Dnipro.
Later, representatives of the authorities in Kyiv and the surrounding region discussed the efforts of air defense forces in the outskirts of the capital and the region.
