The Cabinet of Ministers held its first meeting in the new composition. Each minister was tasked with developing a concrete action plan, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

"We held the first meeting of the new government immediately after the parliamentary vote. Each minister must outline a clear action plan in the shortest possible time. No abstractions," the head of government wrote.

According to her, these plans will be presented publicly and discussed with the relevant parliamentary committees. After that, ministers will be required to report on their progress regularly.

Svyrydenko noted she already has positive experience working with the Economic Committee and expects the same constructive cooperation with other committees.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that the new government is one of the smallest in terms of the number of ministers in Ukraine’s history.

New Cabinet

On July 17, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Yulia Svyrydenko as the new Prime Minister of Ukraine.

According to the parliamentary decision, Denys Shmyhal was named the new Minister of Defense, while Andrii Sybiha retained his position as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Cabinet reshuffle also affected other ministries. Some government bodies were merged, and the Ministry of National Unity was dissolved.
