Ukrainians' trust in the US and NATO has declined significantly, whereas the EU continues to be perceived as a reliable partner, according to poll findings from the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
The poll evidences that 55% of Ukrainians believe that Europe is seriously helping Ukraine and wants the war to end on fair terms.
At the same time, 33% of respondents are convinced that European countries are already tired of the war and are pressuring Kyiv to accept an unjust compromise. The share of those undecided about the EU's role increased from 6% in early October 2025 to 12%.
In the case of the US, the downward trend continues. Compared with the beginning of October 2025, the share who believe the US is tired and is pressuring Ukraine to make concessions to Russia increased from 52% to 59%, while the share who, by contrast, continue to consider the US a reliable ally decreased from 38% to 28%.
Sociologists note that although the current figures are worse, 2025 has already seen a period of even lower trust, with the weakest ratings recorded in March.

At the same time, overall trust in the US and NATO remains significantly lower than a year ago.
Thus, according to KIIS, only 18% trust the US (down from 41% in December 2024), and 52% do not trust it (up from 24%). Another 30% could not decide on their opinion. At the same time, sociologists remind that the attitude to ordinary Americans remains positive—in May 2025, 90% of Ukrainians had a good attitude towards them.
In the case of NATO, 30% trust the organization (down from 43% in December 2024), 43% do not trust it (up from 25%), and 27% are undecided.

The poll was conducted between November 26 and December 29, 2025.
The results were released amid ongoing negotiations aimed at ending Russia's war against Ukraine.
Paris summit
On January 6, the Coalition of the Willing countries, Ukraine, and the US met in Paris.
Following the meeting, the Paris Declaration on "robust security guarantees for a solid and lasting peace in Ukraine" was unveiled. Among other provisions, it provides for the deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine after the cessation of hostilities.
Meanwhile, the US did not sign the Paris Declaration adopted following the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing.
In addition, the final version of the document removed language regarding US commitments to support multinational forces in Ukraine in the event of renewed Russian aggression.
