The Netherlands will accelerate the allocation of the promised €3.5 billion in aid for Ukraine. The country will send €2 billion this year instead of in 2026, states the spokesperson for Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, according to France24.

According to the spokesperson, the Netherlands will accelerate the allocation of €3.5 billion in aid for Ukraine and will send €2 billion this year instead of in 2026.

Following today's meeting of European leaders in Paris, Schoof stated that the negotiations focused not only on peace and security in Ukraine but also on peace and security in Europe, including the Netherlands.

"One thing is certain: Ukraine can continue to count on our support. We will maintain a steady course. Strong, modern, and resilient Armed Forces of Ukraine are the most important guarantee of peace security," he wrote on Twitter (X).

Dutch aid to Ukraine

In December last year, the Dutch Ambassador to Ukraine, Alle Dorhout, stated that the Netherlands still had €6 billion allocated for aid to Ukraine.

Additionally, in January this year, Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that the Netherlands would provide assistance that would significantly strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
