The Netherlands has allocated €3.8 billion to Ukraine and plans to provide an additional €6 billion. The priority area of assistance for Amsterdam is energy, the Dutch Ambassador to Ukraine, Alle Dorhout, states.

According to him, over the past three years, the Netherlands has supported Ukraine in various ways—morally, with humanitarian aid, reconstruction assistance, and economic and military support.

"Indeed, €3.8 billion has already been provided, but €6 billion more is planned. Thus, the Netherlands has allocated over €10 billion in military assistance, of which nearly €4 billion has already been delivered," the ambassador said.

At the same time, Dorhout emphasized that energy is one of the priorities for the Netherlands in assisting Ukraine.

"We have already done much to support your country, and we are constantly looking for new opportunities. Colleagues are in regular contact with the Ukrainian side to understand how else we can help Ukraine get through this winter," the diplomat noted.

Assistance to Ukraine from the Netherlands

It was reported back in October that the Netherlands plans to allocate more than €6 billion in military assistance to Ukraine. At that time, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans stated that support would not be reduced.

Moreover, in mid-October, it became known that the Netherlands would allocate an additional €271 million for military assistance to Ukraine. These funds will be spent on artillery shells.

At the beginning of December, the Netherlands decided to allocate €22 million in aid to Ukraine. The funds will be directed, in particular, to strengthening Ukraine's air defense systems.
