Netherlands reveals details of F-16 deliveries to Ukraine
Deliveries of F-16 fighters to Ukraine will begin this summer. Denmark is ready to start aircraft deliveries, according to Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren.
"Starting this summer, we are ready to provide real potential, starting with Danish F-16s and then Dutch F-16s. Of course, the Ukrainian side must also be ready for this: the appropriate infrastructure and maintenance capabilities must be created, from spare parts to ammunition," she says.
According to her, the coalition is working very hard to deliver the fighter jets to Ukraine.
"I very much hope that starting this summer we will be able to deliver air defense systems in some units," the Minister says.
F-16 for Ukraine
In 2023, an aviation coalition was created under the leadership of the Netherlands and Denmark to provide Ukraine with modern F-16 fighters.
Recently, it became known that the first group of Ukrainian pilots has successfully completed a basic training program in the UK and has already begun training on F-16s in Denmark.
The Pentagon has stated that the first F-16s could be delivered to Ukraine as early as this year.
