Netherlands joins G7 security guarantees for Ukraine, says Foreign Minister
The Netherlands decided to support the G7 declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine agreed at the NATO summit yesterday, as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra tweeted.
"I welcome the G7 Declaration of Support for Ukraine, including the announced security arrangements. The Netherlands will join this initiative and will contribute to these security arrangements for Ukraine in close coordination with international partners," the minister wrote.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
The leaders of the G7 states agreed on a declaration of security guarantees for Ukraine during the NATO summit. It entails long-term support in the defense and economy of Ukraine.
Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Finland have also decided to support the G7 declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the new security guarantees outlined in the declaration will be expanded through bilateral agreements with partners.
