The campaign against Iran is still ongoing, but Israel has already achieved historic results in confronting the Iranian threat, according to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

'Iranian axis'

The head of the Israeli government says the enemy attempted to encircle the country, but Israel managed to seize the initiative.

"The campaign against Iran is not over. But we can already say clearly — we have historic achievements. They wanted to strangle us, and we are strangling them. We hit them, we still have more to do," Netanyahu said, while presenting a map of the Middle East highlighting the so-called "Iranian axis."

The prime minister noted that a significant part of his efforts has been focused on preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

He added that Israel "broke the barrier of fear" by carrying out a direct strike on Iran last June.

Intelligence, security issues

Netanyahu also emphasized the role of intelligence services. He claimed that, unlike on October 7, 2023, this time he received accurate intelligence in a timely manner.

"This time, precise intelligence reached me on time," he said, commenting on ongoing operations against the Iranian threat.

Lebanon situation, talks

Earlier, Prime Minister Netanyahu stressed that the ceasefire between the United States and Iran does not apply to military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, meaning operations there will continue.

He later announced the start of direct talks with Lebanon. The main goal of the dialogue was expected to be the establishment of peace and the complete disarmament of Hezbollah.

Media outlets also reported that the Lebanese government and the Trump administration have asked Israel to pause strikes until official negotiations begin next week.
