Nearly half of battles on front take place in Pokrovsk direction - General Staff
Since the beginning of August 13, there have been 80 combat engagements on the front line. Nearly half of them have been recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
According to the General Staff, border villages and settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from cynical shelling from Russian territory. Artillery and mortar fire today affected the areas around the settlements of Novi Vyrky, Manukhivka, Vidrodzhenivske, Karpovychi, Prohres, and Bleshnya.
Additionally, the Russian army carried out airstrikes on Riasne, Novi Vyrky, Vorozhba, Bilopillia, Liubymivka, Bilovody, Radianske, Yunakivka, Sumy, and Basivka, dropping a total of 31 guided aerial bombs.
Since the beginning of the day, Russian invaders have also struck the area around the village of Mali Prokhody with two KABs (guided aerial bombs).
Situation in the directions
Kharkiv direction: The enemy launched 12 attacks near Lyptsi, Hlyboke, Tykhe, and Vovchansk. Two of these engagements are still ongoing near the latter.
Kupiansk direction: The enemy did not conduct active offensive actions.
Lyman direction: The invading army stormed our defenders' positions six times near Makiivka, Nevske, Terny, and in the Serebrianske forestry. Five battles have concluded, and one is still ongoing. The Russian army also fired unguided air rockets near Serhiivka.
Siversk direction: There were five engagements throughout the day. The enemy advanced near Spirne and Verkhniokamianske but received a harsh repulse.
Kramatorsk direction: Two engagements continue near Chasiv Yar. Another attack in the area of Bila Hora was repelled by our forces.
Toretsk direction: The enemy increased their attacks to four. One attack each near Toretsk and Zalizne has been repelled, with battles ongoing. Additionally, the invaders carried out five airstrikes, dropping seven KABs on Toretsk.
Pokrovsk direction: The Russian forces conducted assault operations in the areas of the settlements of Sukha Balka, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Yelizavetivka, Zelene Pole, Malynivka, Hrodivka, Zhelanne, and Skuchne.
Defense forces are holding off the Russian troops and have repelled 22 attacks, with 14 engagements still ongoing. The enemy's losses in this direction are being clarified. The enemy also carried out four airstrikes on Oleksandropil and Hrodivka.
Kurakhove direction: The invaders attacked three times near Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka, where they suffered defeats.
Orikhiv direction: The enemy, using aviation, struck the area of the settlement of Bilohirya with 30 unguided air rockets.
Dniprovsk direction: The Russian forces had no success after five attacks on our troops' positions. They struck Mykolaivka with 15 unguided rockets.
"On other parts of the front, the situation remains largely unchanged," the General Staff added.
Situation on the front line and Russian losses
According to the General Staff, on August 12, there were 134 combat engagements on the front line. The enemy is most active in the Pokrovsk direction.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 593,000 personnel.
During the past day, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,160 soldiers and destroyed 5 tanks, 17 armored fighting vehicles, 36 artillery systems, 19 drones, and other enemy equipment.
