A meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the ambassadorial level took place today, November 26. The key topic of discussion was Russia's strike on Dnipro with the Kedr medium-range ballistic missile, the NATO press service reports.

According to the Alliance, during the meeting, high-ranking Ukrainian military officials briefed the ambassadors via video link.

NATO allies reaffirmed their support for Ukraine. They viewed the attack on Dnipro as another attempt by Russia to terrorize the civilian population of Ukraine and intimidate those who support Ukrainians.

“Deploying this capability will neither change the course of the conflict nor deter NATO Allies from supporting Ukraine,” NATO recalled the statement of the Alliance's spokesperson Farah Dakhlallah.

Russian strike on Dnipro

Last week, the Russian occupiers decided to test their new weapons in combat conditions. Dnipro was attacked with a medium-range ballistic missile.

Afterward, Russian President Vladimir Putin boasted that it was a new Russian missile called Oreshnik. He also threatened that Russia could strike at military facilities in the United States, United Kingdom, and France.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine clarified that “Oreshnik” is the name of the research and development work that developed the missile. The system itself is called Kedr.
