NATO 'takes note' of Ukraine's victory plan, many aspects need further discussion - Rutte
NATO allies have taken into account the victory plan developed by Kyiv. However, many aspects of this initiative still need to be discussed, stated NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, according to the Associated Press.
"The plan has many aspects and many political and military issues we really need to hammer out with the Ukrainians to understand what is behind it, to see what we can do, what we cannot do," Rutte said.
According to him, he is in close contact with the allies and Kyiv to understand what can be done in the context of helping Ukraine.
At the same time, Rutte refused to disclose what exactly the allies plan to discuss with Ukraine.
He clarified that at the moment, the focus should be on helping Ukraine regain more territory and strengthen its position in future peace talks.
Victory plan
Today, on October 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly presented a victory plan. This happened during his address to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament - ed.).
The plan consists of five points. Zelenskyy disclosed only the main part of it, while the annexes remained classified.
As Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the Presidential Office, noted in a commentary to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel, the secret annexes refer to strikes on Russian territory.
