NATO chief urges readiness for increased Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called to prepare for increased Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure facilities this winter, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said during a press conference at the meeting of foreign ministers of the Alliance countries in Brussels.
"Of course, we will review the situation in Ukraine. We see intense fighting along the front line. And we see waves of drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure facilities. And we must prepare for more attacks against Ukrainian cities. Therefore, it is very important that countries NATO members continued to support Ukraine," Stoltenberg says.
It is expected that the member states will confirm their unwavering support for Ukraine at the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, which will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.
Preparation for winter
Ukrainians were warned on the eve of autumn and winter about possible new mass shelling by the occupiers. Ukraine's energy sector may become a target of the Russians. Analysts and experts believe that the Russians will not be able to leave Ukrainians without electricity this winter.
Ukrainian engineers were trained in Britain on the eve of winter. The purpose of the program is to protect the energy industry in case of possible Russian attacks.
At the same time, the Main Directorate of Intelligence confirms that Russia is stockpiling missiles to repeat massive strikes. But, according to scouts, the scale of shelling will be smaller.
