NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, in an interview with Bild, said several European countries are ready to deploy troops to Ukraine to help maintain peace and respond if Russia breaches a potential peace agreement. The details of such deployments are still being negotiated.

In response to journalists' questions, Rutte said the specifics of troop deployments are not being publicly discussed, but several countries have indicated their willingness to send forces to Ukraine.

He explained that NATO is working on how the Coalition of the Willing would be structured, including the nature of deployments on land, at sea, and in the air. All these elements are currently being coordinated.

On December 16, it was reported that the leaders of the countries participating in the Coalition of the Willing officially expressed their readiness to deploy support forces to Ukraine as part of security guarantees after the end of the war.

According to a spokesperson for UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the United Kingdom has reaffirmed its readiness to deploy troops to Ukraine once hostilities end. Starmer added that a plan for the post-war deployment of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine has already been prepared.

Yesterday, on December 20, Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro said that Portugal does not rule out deploying troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping contingent, but such a deployment would only be possible after the war ends.
