President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine aims to do "everything possible and impossible" in 2025 to achieve a lasting and just peace with security guarantees for the state.

Speaking about the 11-year-long Russian military aggression against Ukraine and the fight against the occupiers, the head of state said that "Ukrainians have come a long way."

"And this year, we must do everything possible and impossible to achieve a real peace — peace with security guarantees for our state, with guarantees of dignity and respect for all our people — for everyone who has lived, lives, and will live in Ukraine. ," the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy also noted that the Ukrainian people, like everyone else on Earth, deserve respect.

"Our diplomacy is working for a decent peace for Ukraine, a lasting peace, and I am fighting for everyone in the world, whoever it is, to respect Ukraine, to respect Ukrainians, to respect everything that our people have been able to do to protect everything they love," the president said.

The statement was made during the state awards ceremony for Ukrainian defenders. In particular, the Order of the Golden Star for the Heroes of Ukraine.

The President also handed over awards to the families of the military who were posthumously awarded this title. He also presented certificates for apartments to Heroes of Ukraine and families of fallen Heroes.

On February 23, during the Forum "Ukraine. The Year 2025" forum, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that President Zelenskyy sets a goal to achieve a just peace in a full-scale war in 2025.

On February 20, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, voiced the opinion that in 2025, Ukraine and Russia are likely to reach a ceasefire. The general noted that how long and effective it will be is another question.
