Meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump
Today, October 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump are holding talks at the White House.
The American leader greeted the Ukrainian president at the entrance to the White House, after which they spoke to the press. In response to journalists’ questions, Zelenskyy notably proposed a deal to Trump — Ukraine could provide the US with thousands of drones in exchange for Tomahawk missiles.
Following this, Zelenskyy and Trump began closed-door talks, which were intended to take place in an informal atmosphere over lunch.
As previously reported, the leaders are discussing the possibility of providing Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles, as well as the potential for Ukraine-Russia negotiations at the leadership level and beyond.
At the same time, a source from the Ukrainian delegation told RBC-Ukraine that Zelenskyy brought Trump maps of Russia’s "pain points," strikes on which could force the Kremlin to end the war.
All the details of the talks between the two leaders are available in the RBC-Ukraine report.
