The ambassadors of the G7 countries have stated that they continue to work in Kyiv, despite new Russian threats of potential strikes on the Ukrainian capital, according to a joint statement by the ambassadors on the social media platform X.
The statement notes that representatives of the Group of Seven held a meeting with international business associations in Ukraine in the morning. The parties discussed ways to improve the investment and business climate.
"Despite Russian threats, all G7 countries are staying in Kyiv and will continue their work to support Ukraine," the diplomats emphasised.
The statement came amid yet another Russian threat of possible systematic strikes on the Ukrainian capital.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, stated that Russia was allegedly beginning consecutive strikes on targets in Kyiv.
Following this, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on foreign states to evacuate their diplomatic missions from the Ukrainian capital.
Earlier, the European Union's ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová, also said that European diplomats do not plan to leave Kyiv due to Russian threats.
The EU has reacted to Russia's threats against Kyiv and has summoned representatives from Moscow to Europe, according to European Commission spokeswoman Anitta Hipper.
What really lies behind the Kremlin's threats was explained by Ivan Tymochko, head of the Council of Reservists of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
