The Kremlin believes that peace between Russia and Ukraine could allegedly come within a year. Washington and Moscow may find a solution, according to Reuters.

"We are sure that we are on the road to peace, and as peacemakers, we need to make it happen," Dmitriev said during a speech at an investment conference in Saudi Arabia.

The official added that he believes peace with Ukraine is possible within a year. In his opinion, Russia and the United States are close to a "diplomatic solution" of the war.

Dmitriev also cynically added that cooperation among Russia, the US, and Saudi Arabia — countries with the largest reserves of natural resources — will allegedly make the world a safer place.

"People are right now focused on the regional conflict that exists around Russia, but we do not want it to escalate into a bigger conflict. And for that, we have to do better than we have been doing, not worse," he added.

Dmitriev’s visit to the US

Last week, the special representative of the Russian leader, Kirill Dmitriev, visited the United States. This happened almost immediately after the US imposed new sanctions against Russia. The sanctions targeted Russian giants Rosneft and Lukoil.

During his visit, Dmitriev insisted that the sanctions would allegedly not affect Russia but would instead lead to rising fuel prices at American gas stations.

He also unexpectedly claimed that the US, Ukraine, and Russia are allegedly close to resolving the war through diplomatic means.

Following this, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that his country was supposedly ready to accept the US concept for ending the war against Ukraine.
