In June, drones operated by Ukraine's Defense Forces struck more than 200,000 verified enemy targets, according to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
"During June, unmanned aerial systems of the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out more than 437,000 combat missions. More than 200,000 verified enemy targets were hit. We continue to steadily increase our strike capabilities," Syrskyi said.
For comparison, the figure was nearly 180,000 in May.
Using unmanned systems, nearly 28,000 Russian troops were hit in June.
"The Defense Forces continue to increase their advantage over the enemy in the use of FPV drones. In June, the strike ratio was 1.6 to 1 in our favor, compared to 1.5 to 1 in May. The positive trend continues," the commander-in-chief said.
Ukrainian forces are also steadily developing the Middle Strike capability. While in May the Defense Forces carried out nearly 2,000 strikes using systems of this class, in June the figure reached about 3,400.
"We are also increasing our capabilities in the Deep Strike segment. In June, 172 enemy targets were hit deep in the enemy's operational and strategic rear. The enemy is already feeling the consequences of these strikes. Their intensity and effectiveness will continue to grow," Syrskyi added.
In addition, the development of ground robotic systems is being scaled up, as the use of these systems for logistics, casualty evacuation, and combat missions primarily helps save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
In June, Ukrainian ground robotic systems carried out about 17,000 missions. For comparison, the figure was 12,500 in May.
"We continue to increase the number of Middle Strike and Deep Strike units, expand their capabilities, and accelerate the training of the necessary specialists. The enemy's rear areas, military logistics, warehouses, command posts, energy infrastructure, and other important facilities will continue to remain under constant fire from the Defense Forces of Ukraine," the commander-in-chief said.
Is a turning point in the war possible soon?
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the Defense Forces of Ukraine were effectively resisting the enemy, but that there is currently no turning point in the war.
Syrskyi also spoke about new successes of the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield:
-
Consistently high rates of destruction of Russian troops and their equipment;
-
The continued disruption of enemy logistics;
-
Effective strikes on military and critical infrastructure, primarily Russia's fuel and energy sector.
