Ukraine's Defense Forces are effectively countering the enemy, but it is still too early to speak of a turning point in the war, according to a statement by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Syrskyi on a turning point in the war against Russia

General Oleksandr Syrskyi highlighted several recent successes achieved by Ukraine's Defense Forces on the battlefield, including:

  • Consistently high rates of destruction of Russian troops and military equipment;
  • The systematic disruption of enemy logistics;
  • Effective strikes on military and critical infrastructure facilities, particularly within Russia's fuel and energy sector.

"These developments indicate that we are acting correctly. At the same time, it is still too early to speak of a qualitative turning point in the war. The aggressor is showing signs of exhaustion, but still retains significant offensive potential," Syrskyi warned.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, the enemy is responding by:

  • Increasing the size of its military forces;
  • Continuing massive strikes against Ukrainian territory;
  • Expanding the production of weapons and other means of attack;
  • Preparing to regain the initiative and potentially launch offensive operations in new sections of the front line.

Ukraine's military taking proactive action

Syrskyi noted that the military is taking these threats into account, working to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine's defenses, and must stay ahead of the enemy.

"Training service members remains one of our unconditional priorities after the execution of combat missions. The quality of that training directly affects the lives of our defenders, the resilience of units, and the effectiveness of our defense," Syrskyi said.

Russia seeks to expand the front line

According to Syrskyi, the Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain an advantage over the enemy in terms of training.

"However, the enemy is trying to compensate for this through numerical superiority and plans to extend the length of the front line, which already exceeds 1,250 kilometers," the general said.

Earlier, Oleksandr Syrskyi outlined the priorities for frontline medical support. These include ground robotic systems, protected underground stabilization points, and full digitalization.

In June, Ukraine's Defense Forces destroyed nearly 5,000 Shahed-type drones and other UAVs of the same class. According to Syrskyi, crews from the first interception echelon accounted for 55% of all enemy attack drones brought down.
