Elections in Moldova
Parliamentary elections will be held in Moldova on September 28 this year.
Starting July 20, Moldova’s Central Election Commission began accepting documents for the registration of candidates for the parliamentary race.
Recently, it was revealed that the Central Election Commission denied registration to the pro-Russian Victory/Pobeda bloc led by fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor. The decision was made by majority vote.
Additionally, on July 15, the European Union approved a new package of sanctions against pro-Russian politicians and organizations in Moldova. Brussels stated that Moscow is attempting to destabilize the country ahead of the parliamentary elections.
