Starting Sunday, July 20, Moldova’s Central Election Commission began accepting documents for the registration of candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections, according to NewsMaker.

The ruling party, Action and Solidarity (PAS), and the political force Democracy at Home (Democrația Acasă), led by Vasile Costiuc, were the first to submit their candidate lists to the CEC.

According to the Electoral Code, if multiple candidates submit documents on the same day, the order in which they appear on the ballot is determined by drawing lots.

According to preliminary results of the drawing, the PAS party will appear first on the ballot, while the Democracy at Home party will be second. However, the final order will be confirmed only after official registration by the Central Election Commission (CEC).

The CEC will review the submitted documents within seven days and decide whether to approve or reject the registration.

Additionally, on the same day, applications were submitted by four potential independent candidates intending to run in the elections.

The deadline for submitting registration documents is August 19. It’s also worth noting that parliamentary elections in Moldova are scheduled for September 28.

On Saturday, it was announced that the CEC of Moldova had denied registration to the pro-Russian bloc Victory, led by fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor, for participation in the elections.
