In temporarily occupied Melitopol, Russian troops have begun preparations for a new wave of mobilization, which is expected to start as part of the autumn draft, Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation (CPD) reports.

At a special meeting, the occupation administration discussed a set of measures aimed at ensuring local residents report to military enlistment offices. This includes undergoing medical examinations and registering for military service.

In practice, this represents another attempt to forcibly involve Ukrainians in the war against their own country. Russian forces are using all possible methods to force residents of occupied territories to join the army.

Forcible mobilization of the population from temporarily occupied territories is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law. Such actions are officially classified as a war crime.

“The Kremlin’s promises that residents of the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region would ‘not be touched for at least five years’ have turned out to be a lie,” the CPD emphasized.

Earlier, the Center for National Resistance reported that Russia plans to accelerate the mobilization of Ukrainians in temporarily occupied territories.

The Chief of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that Russia could carry out another mobilization, which poses a serious threat.

Budanov added that Russia would be able to increase the number of troops to throw into “the meat assaults” if conscripts follow the path of mobilization.

The Center for Countering Disinformation also reported that Russia has been discussing plans to create “troops from gamers,” who could supposedly learn to operate drones more quickly.
